Have you ever experienced a moment when it felt like God was nudging you towards a path that seemed larger than life itself? That was my reality nearly two decades ago when I founded Women Stepping Out In Faith. While reflecting on an old journal entry, I found myself confessing, But Lord, I don't feel inadequate, nor am I equipped, let alone qualified. As a new believer in faith, the notion of discussing God with others was intimidating. Yet, overcoming my fearfulness, I made the decision to move forward with our first gathering. For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7
Â
Prior to this point, I was dealing with my own life's struggles. I was so unhappy and burdened with so much shame that I wasn’t letting anyone in. After all, my marriage was falling apart, and I hated my job.  I masked my pain and managed to keep a face of happiness, but internally, I was in turmoil. It was through the process of holding these monthly gatherings with a small group of women that I realized we were all wrestling with similar issues. Hearing their experiences empowered me, and sharing my journey allowed me to believe again.

Listen, regardless of the current challenges you might be facing, one thing is crystal clear: God has carved out a place especially for you. No matter your past, setbacks, or the pain you've encountered, His unconditional love will meet you right where you are and accept you just as you are. Here at Girlfriend's, our mission is to support you in stepping out in faith and experiencing His love!
Â
Reflection:
The fear of feeling unqualified is something many of us struggle with, especially when it feels like God is calling us to step into something much bigger than ourselves. Like the founder of Girlfriends, you may feel unprepared or inadequate to fulfill the task God has placed before you. However, God's word reminds us that He has a plan for each one of us—a plan to prosper us and not to harm us, a plan to give us hope and a future.
Reflect on a time when you felt unqualified or afraid to do something God was calling you to. What emotions and obstacles did you face? How did you overcome them, or what is holding you back now?
Â
God doesn't call the qualified; He qualifies the called. The beauty of our journey with God is that He is always ready to meet us exactly where we are in our doubt, fear, and unbelief. He sees beyond our perceived limitations and beckons us to step out in faith.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, Thank You for believing in me even when I struggle to believe in myself. I acknowledge my feelings of inadequacy and fear but choose to trust in Your perfect plan for my life. Help me to remember that with You, I am more than qualified to step into the calling You've placed on my heart. Give me the strength and courage to take the step of faith. Thank You for the opportunities to step out in faith and to be part of a community that encourages growth and healing. Help me to take action on what You are calling me to do, trusting that You are with me every step of the way. Amen.

Let's Take Action:
Â
Reflect on Your Calling:
Take a moment to journal about what you believe God is calling you to do. Where is God calling you to step out in faith today? Write down your feelings of fear or inadequacy and counteract them with scriptures that affirm your identity in Christ.
Â
Share Your Story:
Reach out to someone you trust and share a piece of your journey with them. This could be a moment of vulnerability where you felt God was especially present, even if you didn't realize it at the time. Sharing your story can inspire others and deepen your connections.
Â
Take a Small Step:
Identify one small step you can take this week toward fulfilling your calling. It might be as simple as sharing your faith with a friend, signing up for a small group at church, or attending a community event like the I AM HER Women’s Conference.
Â
Attend or Share the I AM HER 2024:
Consider attending the I  AM HER Women’s Conference. It could be a powerful opportunity for you to connect with others who are also navigating their faith journeys. If you can't make it, share the event details with someone you believe could benefit from the experience.
Â
Commit to Prayer:
Dedicate time each day to pray for courage, guidance, and an open heart to receive and act upon God's direction in your life. Remember, God is always listening and ready to provide what you need.
Â
As you contemplate your calling, remember that God's love is ready to embrace you, just as you are. There's a space just for you in His plan, a plan filled with hope and a promise for your future.
